FIGHT FACTS
Penn Replaces Injured St. Pierre
After a groin pull forced top 170-pound contender Georges St. Pierre to withdraw from his scheduled rematch with UFC Welterweight Champion, Matt Hughes, the UFC had to quickly find a fighter with the courage and skill to face the champ on very short notice.
The choice quickly became obvious - none other than the last man to beat Hughes, BJ Penn. Penn scored a big upset win when in his first bout at welterweight, he forced Hughes to tap out.
While Penn eagerly seized the opportunity to make it 2-0 against Hughes, the premier welterweight of this era, Hughes would like nothing better than to settle an old score with Penn.
