PENN Vs. ST. PIERRE
Welterweight Bout

Penn vs. St. Pierre

BJ PENN

5' 7 "
170 Lbs.
Age: 27
From: Hilo, Hawaii
Record: 10-2-1

In his last fight inside the Octagon two years ago, BJ Penn defeated Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes with a rear choke submission. After that fight, Penn left the UFC to pursue fights abroad. The championship was vacated, allowing Matt Hughes to re-capture the belt when he defeated Georges St. Pierre at UFC 50.

Penn stayed active in his time away, beating top Japanese fighter, Takanori Gomi and Brazilian legend, Renzo Gracie.

Now, Penn is back in the UFC to re-capture his title. The only thing standing in his way of that opportunity, is Georges St. Pierre.

GEORGES ST. PIERRE

5' 10 "
170 Lbs.
Age: 24
From: Montreal, Quebec Canada
Record: 11-1-0

Georges "Rush" St. Pierre burst onto the scene over two years ago at UFC 46 with a dominating decision win over Karo Parisyan.

St. Pierre earned a title shot at UFC 50 and battled Matt Hughes for the then-vacant Welterweight Championship. After giving the veteran Hughes all he could handle in the first round, St. Pierre was defeated by an arm lock just as time expired.

Since that fight, St. Pierre has been on a tear, steam-rolling top fighters including Sean Sherk and Frank Trigg.

If St. Pierre hopes to get another title shot, he has to get through the former champion, BJ Penn.
