About the Company...
Canadastar Boxing Inc., now in its 24th year, is Canada's undisputed champion and premier distributor of pay-per view professional boxing events for Canadian commercial locations.
Most major boxing events have been distributed by Canadastar throughout Canada, and the Company has been established as a household name to sports oriented bars, restaurants and casinos throughout the country.
The Founder and President of the Company, Raymond Rutter, has been involved for over 30 years in all aspects of Pro Boxing. He has managed 10 Canadian Champions, 4 Commonwealth Champions, and 1 World Champion. He was inducted into the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame in 1984, and was the Canadian Manager of the Year in 1988 and in 1989.
In 1990, Ray began acquisition and distribution rights of major boxing events for Canada. His Rightsholders have included Don King Productions, Top Rank Inc., HBO and HBO PPV (formerly TVKO), Main Events, Golden Boy Promotions and Showtime SET, among others. "We are proud to distribute these exciting events to the commercial world on the Rightsholder's behalf." said Raymond Rutter.
Throughout the 90's, Raymond has been involved with and seen on TV as the Boxing Analyst for TSN and Viewer's Choice Canada. In 1995 at the International Boxing Federation's (IBF) Annual Convention, he was presented an award in the special supporter category and additionally, the Company received an award for distributing IBF Title Fights throughout Canada, again in the special supporter category.
