COTTO REIGNS SUPREME
Welterweight Champion, Miguel Cotto, successfully defended his title over the classy "Sugar" Shane Mosley by a close unanimous decision (115-113 twice and 116-113) to retain his title and undefeated record, now 31-0, 25 KO's).
In the predictable highly-skilled and exciting bout, both had their moments but most surprising was Cotto's quick and powerful jab, which paved the way to this hard-fought battle.
Mosley never stopped trying and even backed up Cotto in the final 3 rounds, but Cotto's counter-punching to the advancing Mosley swept 2 of the final 3 rounds to secure the victory.
A tremendous fight which had the sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden on their feet for most of the bout which is a sure candidate for the Fight of the Year.
