COTTO BY KO
WBA Welterweight Champion, Miguel Cotto (now 30-0, 25 KO's) did not disappoint a sold out Madison Square Garden crowd of over 20,000 boxing fans, crushing the courageous Zab Judah (now 34-5, 25 KO's) and in the end out-gunned him in the 11th round.
In an action-packed see-saw war, Cotto was stunned in round one by an uppercut, but promptly flattened Judah with a low blow.
Round two went to the stalking Cotto.
In the third, Cotto had Judah on the canvas with another low blow and the referee promptly deducted a point off Cotto.
Cotto continued his stalking and punishing ways, and in he 6th round, was cut over the right eye.
Cotto was again hurt in the 7th, but came roaring back in the 8th.
In the 9th round, Judah took a knee to recoup from the powerful blows and it appeared he end was in sight.
Judah was brutalized in the 10th round, and his corner implored Judah to throw more punches going into the 11th.
Cotto opened up both hands in the 11th and dropped Judah with a barrage of punches, the final shot being a right hand. Judah got up but was swarmed again by Cotto and the referee stopped the fight.
Miguel Cotto has proven that he is taking over the "most exciting fighter" title, not to mention the world's best welterweight.
