"Sugar" Shane Stops Vargas in 10th

Both fighters came out with controlled aggression with Fernando Vargas concentrating on the body, while Shane Mosley landed combinations to the head of Vargas. Vargas began to incur swelling over his left eye caused by an overhand right by Mosley. Mosley won the close first round.

Mosley continued with fast combos and won the fast-paced second round. Vargas attempted to use his strength and was warned for a low blow. Mosley won the close third round with his faster more accurate punch rate.

In the fourth, Vargas has his best round as the aggressor with right hand leads.

In the fifth, Vargas tried to overpower Shane against the ropes. Vargas wins another round in a terrific round.

In a very close sixth round, Mosley sneaked out the round with a big flurry in the last 10 seconds. Halfway into the fight, we had Mosley ahead 4 rounds to 2.

Vargas wins the seventh round as he bulled Mosley into the ropes and scored with body shots. Mosley began to look tired in a very close fight.

A big 8th round for Mosley as he teed off with lead right hands and Vargas took a beating. Vargas' left eye swelled up even more. He was unable to see from his left eye but protected it well

Mosley seemed to take the ninth round off, but still won the round.

Mosley took his time in the tenth but began to land his right hand on Vargas' bad eye. Refereee, Joe Cortez saw enough and stopped the bout.

A big win for Shane in a very entertaining fight.
