HOPKINS IN AN UPSET!
Bernard Hopkins, long time former middleweight champion, easily out-pointed the self-proclaimed undisputed light-heavyweight champion, Antonio Tarver over 12.
After a feel-them-out first round, Hopkins began landing a straight right hand leads and would then roll out of harms way over the seemingly lethargic Tarver.
Hopkins dropped Tarver in the fifth when again a straight right made Tarver's glove hit the canvas in order to stay up. Hopkins swept at least five of the first six rounds. Tarver could not muster any kind of attack and looked weakened by all the weight he had to lose. Hopkins appeared to be able to take Tarver out if he had applied more presure, but was content to stay out of harms way and instead he just out-boxed the tired Tarver the rest of the fight.
The 3-1 underdog, Bernard Hopkins, still claims he is retiring. We shall see.
