KING OLEG KO'S RAHMAN!

Hasim Rahman took the first round from Oleg Maskaev with a good left jab and the occasional right hand in the heavyweight championship bout.

Both fighters picked up the pace in the second round. Both had there moments but Rahman was busier.

A very exciting third round saw both fighters taking turns teeing off with rights from Rahman and left hooks from Maskaev, but Rahman took the round.

The fourth round was another good round for Rahman as he was the clear aggressor with better combinations - 4-0 rounds in favour of Rahman after 4.

The fifth round turned into a brawl and it was Maskaev's best round of the fight. Referee, Jay Nady warned Oleg for olding. We scored it 4-1 for Rahman after 5.

The 6th is a give-and-take, but we give the round to Maskaev as he lands a series of big right hands. Again, Maskaev was warned by the referee for holding. After six rounds,we have it 4-2 Rahman in a very good fight.

A big 7th round for Maskaev as he buckled Rahman a couple of times with big right hands.

Rahman pulled out round 8 with a flurry in the last seconds. Both fighters looked tired. We have it 5-3 for Rahman after 8 rounds.

The ninth wasvery close, but Maskaev landed some hard shots to Rahman's body. We have it 5-4 Rahman after 9 rounds.

Rahman squeaked out with a more aggressive jab and we had it - 6-4 Rahman after 10.

A solid 11th round by Maskaev and it's all on the line in the final round. After 11 rounds, we had it 6-5 in rounds for Rahman.

Maskaev pulled it off in the final round as he first staggered then droped Raman with a flurry capped off with a right hand. Rahman got up but was pummeled in a corner and the referee stopped the fight.

Oleg Maskaev is the new WBC Heavyweight Champion.
