Mayweather Crowned
Floyd Mayweather starts off nicely - bloodies Carlos Baldomir's nose with his lightning jabs. Mayweather wins first round easily.
Baldomir is more aggressive in 2nd round and lands a couple of wild shots but leaves himself open for Mayweather's counter left hooks. Another good round for the talented Mayweather.
Mayweather's superior speed and skill begins to frustrate Baldomir and Mayweather takes another round. Baldomir simply can't catch up to Floyd. Again, Baldomir is left confused and bruised by his opponent's speed and agility in the 3rd round.
Mayweather's counters and inside fighting is taking Baldomir apart in the 4th.
Mayweather makes the champ look slow and awkward as Mayweather sweeps the 5th round in a breeze.
Another hit-and-miss round for Floyd. After six rounds, it is a shutout for Mayweather. Baldomir tries but nothing is working up to this point for the champion.
A closer round seven as Mayweather seemed to take the round off. This gives Baldomir his first round win, although it was close.
Another competitive round, but Floyd's superior skill takes it again. Floyd's counter-punching is a thing of beauty.
The 9th is all Mayweather as he counters Baldomir's wild left hookds and rights with pin-point punishing shots. Baldomir is hopelessly behind with little chace of catching Mayweather.
The beating coninues in the 10th as Floyd is simply too fast and skilled for the new and slow-plodding champion. Each round resembles the last.
Mayweather takes the 11th again with a display primarily consisting of left hooks.
The crowd boos as Floyd does very little in the 12th, but still takes the round.
Mayweather is now the new welterweight champion and remains undefeated. A great display of talent shown by Mayweather, but still not a very satisfying entertainment value.
We scored the fight 119-109 for Mayweather. Offiicially, the judges scored the fight 120-108, 120-108, 118-110.
