Wladimir IBF Champion!

In an unusual move, HBO broadcasts the IBF heavyweight title live from Mannheim, Germany at a 5 PM ET start. Champion, Chris Byrd risks his title in front of a packed house full of Wladimir Klitschko rabid fans.

First round is a feel them out round with both fighters throwing jabs, with Klitschko leading slightly more.

The pace is picked up in the second with Klitschko landing some nice right hands and the occasional left hook. A big 2nd for Klitschko.

A close third round, but Klitschko takes it with a nice flurry of lefts and rights.

Byrd's right eye begins to swell. Byrd just can't get close to Klitschko and he continues to be pummelled with left jabs and straight right hands. Klitschko is ahead 4-0 rounds after four.

Byrd gets flattened with a right hand is hammered for the entire round, but lasts the fifth round.

The sixth round is all Klitschko as he systematically is busting up Byrd's face. After six, all rounds go to Klitschko.

Klitschko comes out in the seventh and flattens Byrd with another big right. Byrd goes down but gets up and the ref mercifully stops with fight with Byrd's face a mask of blood.

Wladimir Klitschko wins the IBF Heavyweight Title and improves his record to 46-3 with 41 KO's.
