Felix Trinidad did come back and came back with a vengeance he did.

In an all-out slugfest, his return to the ring after a two and one-half year retirement was a smashing success as he stopped the tough and courageous Ricardo Mayorga in the eighth round.

Trinidad's superior boxing skills and incredibly accurate left hooks and straight rights had Mayorga taking a huge beating all night long. Mayorga was bloodied and battered as he came out for the eighth and after absorbing huge shots to both the head and body, he was dropped three times in the fateful round and the referee, Steve Smoger halted the massacre.
